NASA announced Thursday the major discovery of water ice at the polar regions on Mercury, the planet closest to the sun.
NASA’s MErcury Surface, Space ENvironment, GEochemistry, and Ranging (MESSENGER) spacecraft, which has been studying the Mercury in unprecedented detail since its historic arrival there in March 2011, provided the new ground-breaking information.
